Last Warriors of the Amazon

This project showcases the strength and the indomitable spirit of the Waorani, or Huaroni, the last indigenous tribe to live isolated in the hearth of the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest. The Waorani are fighting a fierce battle to protect their land from oil companies, deforestation and pollution. This project aims to document one of the last tribes on Earth that still live as their ancestors did, untouched by the modern world. Each photograph tells the story of their unwavering determination and pride, a strength that radiates from within, and of their unparalleled connection to the forest, the animals, and the natural world around them.
